Saiyan Saga 

 

We start this saga with a strange pod headed towards Earth. When it lands, a farmer notices what happened, and drives over to the crash site to check it out. A strange man with wierd armor comes out and the farmer is shocked to see that he is an alien. The farmer shoots at the guy but he grabs the bullet! And he flicks it right back at the farmer, killing him. Then the man sensed a high power with a device along his eye. He thinks that it is someone named “Kakarrot”. The man flies off to where the power level is. Meanwhile, our friend Goku is getting ready to meet up with old friends Master Roshi, Krillin, and Bulma. He picks up Gohan, his son, who is stuck in a tree, and flies off on Nimbus to get there. Everyone welcomes him, and are wondering who the little kid is. Goku tells them he is his son, and everyone is shocked. Bulma notices something on Gohan. He has a tail. This scares everyone because they know that Gohan can transform into an ape with a full moon. But when Goku, who doesn’t know about this, tells them that they don’t stay up that late, everyone calms down.

Next scene is Piccolo, meditating, then sensing a huge power nearby. He can’t believe the amount of power he is sensing. The man we saw earlier lands right in front of Piccolo. The man says he is sorry because he thought he was “Kakarrot”. But, knowing Piccolo, he tries to attack him, but is just wasting his energy. Just as Raditz is about to deliver the final blow, He senses another power level with his device, he thinks this one is Kakarrot. He flies off, leaving Piccolo worried. Goku then senses the power coming towards them. He sees the man jump out from the sky and land on Master Roshi’s island! Goku is wondering who he is, and he introduces himself. He is Raditz, Goku’s big brother! Goku doesn’t believe it, and Raditz is getting confused. He first realizes that he lost his tail, and asks him what happened to it. He tells him it was removed long ago. Then he asks him if he was ever hit in the head, and then Master Roshi explains how Goku was found in a pod, and fell into a riven while Grandpa Gohan tried to take care of him. Goku then believes he is from outer space, and Raditz explains why he came. He tells Goku that he came to bring him along with the other surviving Saiyans and destroy planets, for so-called “business”. Goku says no, and Raditz decides to take another true Saiyan, Gohan. He sees that Gohan has a tail, and that is what makes him decide to take him. Goku tries to fight Raditz but he knocks Goku down. He tells Goku that he has one day to kill 100 Earthlings. When Raditz flies off, Goku screams out in anger and pain. But he gets back up, and sees Piccolo floating over Master Roshi’s house. Goku and Piccolo are still enemies here, but Piccolo decides to team up with Goku for the time being until they defeat Raditz. Goku agrees, and Piccolo flies off along with Goku, who is taking the Nimbus.

Meanwhile, Raditz locks up Gohan in his space pod for making too much noise. Next Raditz decides to eat. And while he is eating, he sees a power picked up on the “scouter”, the thing on his eye, that was at 710. This scares Raditz because Goku is somewhere in the 300s. Raditz traces it back to the spacepod where Gohan is locked up. Raditz doesn’t want to believe it, so he stops it. But it does pick up Goku and Piccolo flying over to him. This scares Raditz also, because he can’t see how a kid can have a power level of 710. Goku and Piccolo begin to fight Raditz, with no effect. Raditz beats up Goku and rips off one of Piccolo’s arms with an energy blast. With Piccolo and Goku stuck, Piccolo asks Goku if he will hold off Raditz alone for 5 minutes. Piccolo explains that he has an attack that he was planning to use on Goku, but will use it against Raditz. Goku gets beat up, but Piccolo fires it, and hits Raditz good. But Raditz isn’t down! The beam missed him. While all this is going on, Goku grabs Raditz’s tail, and we all know from Dragonball that Goku used to get weakened when his tail was grabbed. But Raditz talks him out of it using apology, but once Goku lets go of his tail, Raditz beats up Goku. While beating up Goku, a power is skyrocketing near the crater where the spacepod is. It’s Gohan! He’s broken free from the spacepod in anger and charges at Raditz. He head-butts Raditz hard in his stomach. This weakened Raditz a lot. Then, Raditz knocks out Gohan. But, an injured Goku grabs Raditz again and tells Piccolo to prepare the attack. Piccolo is surprised because he knows that Goku will be killed also. Goku doesn’t care, and Piccolo fires, putting holes in both Raditz and Goku’s stomachs!

Goku and Raditz are holding on to what life they have left, and Raditz hears Piccolo talk about the Dragonballs. Raditz sent a message about the Dragonballs to two other Saiyans. Raditz tells Piccolo that the two Saiyans will arrive in one year. Piccolo steps on Raditz’s head, killing him. But Goku is still holding on, and Krillin, Bulma, and Master Roshi have arrived to see the fight, only to see that their friend is dying. Goku finally dies, putting a sort of funny look on Piccolo’s face. But suddenly, Goku disappears! Everyone wonders what happened. Piccolo explains that it was Kami. Then Piccolo starts to do something bizarre. He regenerates his arm! And he announces that he is taking Gohan for training! Against everyone’s wishes, Piccolo flies off with the still unconscious Gohan, leaving everyone to wonder what they will tell Chi-Chi, who is still waiting for them to come back from their reunion!

Piccolo drops Gohan in a river, making him wake up and cry. Piccolo tells Gohan that he has a great power within him. Gohan doesn’t know what he is talking about, so Piccolo throws Gohan by the hair at a cliff! Gohan then awakens his power by destroying the whole cliff in front of him! Gohan sees his power through the aftermath for the first time, and Piccolo tells him that he will have to just survive out in the wild. Gohan finally, not being able to do anything, finally is forced to accept. Goku, meanwhile, is standing before the great King Yemma along side of Kami asking him to allow Goku to see the great King Kai by taking Snake Way. King Yemma accepts and Goku goes off with a guard. Goku falls asleep, and wakes up to see the great Snake Way! The guard tells him that only King Yemma survived Snake way all the way to King Kai’s.

Meanwhile, Chi-Chi and the Ox-King find out what happened to Goku and Gohan. Chi-Chi and the Ox-King go crazy. Meanwhile, Gohan isn’t handling nature too well. He has got himself stuck on top of a cliff. Gohan, cold and hungry, all of a sudden is given an apple out of nowhere. It was Piccolo who gave him the apple. While eating the apple, Gohan notices the full moon, but while he looks at it, he becomes silent. Then he transforms into an ape, frightening Piccolo. Gohan starts to destroy everything in sight, until Piccolo realizes the moon is controlling his transformation, and so he blows it up. Gohan then transforms back to normal and falls asleep from exerting a lot of energy. Piccolo gives him new clothes and flies off. Meanwhile, Goku continues to run Snake Way. Gohan then wakes up later, not knowing anything of what happened last night. Gohan later, in his cave he made, sees a huge dinosaur inside of the cave. Gohan runs like a coward from the monster, but he changes his mind and tries to go back in there, when the dinosaur comes out and falls to the ground!! He has a huge branch stuck in his body. Gohan pulls it out, and seems to have made a friend. While Gohan goes out to get food for his new friend, he sees that his friend is fighting another dinosaur, and is losing bad. Gohan tries to stop the other dinosaur but the dinosaur knocks him out, and when he wakes up, he sees the remains of his friend. Gohan lost his friend, but remains strong.

Meanwhile, the two Saiyans, Vegeta and Nappa, decide to take a pitt stop on another planet. They aren’t welcomed very well by the Arlians of Planet Arlia. They are held prisoner in jail. They are brought out to fight warriors and are expected to lose like the rest. But Vegeta and Nappa killed all of the warriors, and the ruler of the planet!!! But the former ruler says that the ruler Vegeta killed took over and tried to steal his wife. And just as the two will reunite, Vegeta and Nappa destroy Planet Arlia and fly off on their mission again.

Goku continues to run down Snake Way until a so-called “street sweeper” tells Goku to hop on the back. Goku falls asleep, and also falls off of Snake Way!!!! He fell into Hell!!! The land of no return. In a challenge with the Ogres of Hell, he is given a path out of Snake way and right into King Yemma’s drawer!!! But not before eating special fruit that gives a guy incredible strength. Goku is right at the beginning and flies off again.

Meanwhile, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, Chiaotzu, and Yajirobe are called to Korin’s Tower to receive training from Kami, the guardian of the earth. They also tell Krillin, Bulma, and Master Roshi not wish Goku back until the 1 year is up. Also, while Goku runs down Snake Way, he sees a house that he mistakenly thinks is King Kai’s. It turns out it is Princess Snake, looking for food, and preferring Goku as a good meal. Goku ties up Princess Snake and flies off to the end again.

Meanwhile, Gohan makes up his own form of transportation to get back home. It crashes, and he found unconscious by orphans. Gohan stays with them until their leader helps him home. In the process, all except the leader were taken to orphanages. The leader leads Gohan back to his house, and Gohan is within feet of his house, but at the last second hesitates! Making the right decision, he walks away from his home, back to the wilderness, but not before being confronted by Piccolo! Piccolo reminds Gohan of his mission and Gohan trains again, but this time with Piccolo. While fighting, Piccolo realizes that he has made a friend. Because that no matter what he did to Gohan, Gohan never cared. Kami realizes that he might die because Piccolo might sacrifice his life in the fight. Kami and Piccolo are of one being, so if one part dies, the other will too.

Meanwhile, Tien, Chiaotzu, Yamcha, and Krillin are all put in a Pendulum room in Kami’s lookout that sends people to different times. They were sent to Planet Vegeta thousands of years ago. They don’t fare well, but are brought back. But then they learn that the two Saiyans that are coming are twice as strong! Gohan, continuing his fight with Piccolo, transforms into an ape again! Piccolo doesn’t understand how, since he destroyed the moon already. But he sees Goku’s old spacepod projecting a moon. Piccolo blows it up, putting Gohan to sleep again.

Meanwhile, Goku has found the end of Snake Way! At first he thinks a monkey is King Kai but it is Bubbles. But then he first meets the real King Kai!!! King Kai tells Goku he has to make him laugh in order to train. He does so, and King Kai gives him another task. He must catch Bubbles on King Kai’s small planet that is 10 times the gravity of Earths! Goku finally manages to do so. His second task is to hit Gregory with a very heavy mallet. Gregory has incredible speed and it will be hard for Goku to do this. He finally does so. Then, Goku trains more and learns the Kaio-Ken and the Spirit Bomb.

Meanwhile, Piccolo and Gohan are waiting for Vegeta and Nappa to show. Bulma and Master Roshi wish Goku back. Then King Kai realizes something. He didn’t calculate how long it would take for Goku to make it back to Earth. Goku rushes to Earth on Snake Way. Meanwhile, the Saiyans arrive and destroy a town. They sense Gohan and Piccolo and recognize Piccolo as the one who destroyed Raditz. They arrive, and shortly after, Tien, Chiaotzu, Krillin, and Yamcha all arrive to help. Their first challenge was to fight Saibamen that Vegeta and Nappa grew out of the ground using little drops. Yamcha is destroyed by one of them, but the Z-Fighters destroy all of the rest. Next, Nappa powers up. Before he starts, Vegeta tells him not to destroy Piccolo. He says that Piccolo is a Namekian and will know where the Dragonballs are. So Piccolo finally finds out where he is from. The Planet Namek. Remember this later on, because it will be important later in the next saga. Nappa then decides to fight Tien first. He rips off Tien’s left arm. As Tien cries out in pain, Chiaotzu blows himself up while touching Nappa in an attempt to send him into the next dimension. Nappa doesn’t get destroyed, and he starts to attack Piccolo and Krillin. While Krillin and Piccolo are fighting Nappa, Tien goes all out to save his friends, but it didn’t work, and Tien dies.  Just before Nappa can kill them, Vegeta stops Nappa and tells him to wait for 3 hours and see if Kakarrot will come. He doesn’t show, so the fighting continues. When Vegeta senses that Goku has a power level of at least 5000, he orders Nappa to finish off Gohan, Krillin, and Piccolo! Nappa defeats Krillin and is about to finish Gohan with a huge blast. But Piccolo, in an attempt to save Gohan’s life, throws himself in front of the blast killing him. Gohan gets enraged and attacks Nappa. But just as Nappa is about to defeat Gohan, Goku arrives!

Goku gives Gohan and Krillin Senzu Beans. And Goku makes short work of Nappa, forcing Vegeta to blow him up. Then it is the last fight... Goku and Vegeta! Goku tells Krillin and Gohan to leave the area, and they do so. Goku goes all out to destroy Vegeta, making his body ache in pain. Vegeta attempts to blow up the planet, but Goku goes all out throwing Vegeta high above the Earth. Vegeta comes back though, and using a fake moon, transforms into an ape! Goku, who just got beaten up from Vegeta’s new attack, blasts Vegeta in the eye and tries to form a Spirit Bomb. He gets crushed by spending too much time just standing there. He defeats Goku, and Gohan and Krillin try to help. They are both defeated. But an unexpected spectator, Yajirobe, cuts off Vegeta’s tail! And Vegeta goes back to normal. Goku tells Gohan to fight Vegeta. He tries, but loses bad. But Goku has given the Spirit Bomb to Krillin, and Krillin throws it at Vegeta while he isn’t looking. Vegeta avoids it, and it is going toward Gohan! Goku tells Gohan to bounce it back. Goku tells Gohan he has a pure heart and the Spirit Bomb won’t attack him. Gohan bounces it right back at Vegeta, sending him into space!
